Today, we join fellow Nigerians across the globe in celebrating the remarkable achievements of Engr. Bola Babarinde, a dynamic leader whose unwavering commitment to the welfare of his fellow Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora has made him a trailblazer. On this special day, as he marks another milestone in his life, we take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary contributions that Engr. Babarinde has made to the political landscape, not only in Nigeria but also within the Nigerian diaspora community.

Engr. Bola Babarinde’s leadership journey began many years ago when he emerged as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in South Africa. In this role, he became a key figure in organizing and uniting Nigerians living in South Africa. His efforts were instrumental in ensuring that the Nigerian community in South Africa had a voice in the political processes back home. By championing political awareness and engagement, he facilitated meaningful conversations and discussions about Nigeria’s progress, challenges, and the crucial role the diaspora plays in shaping the country’s future. His work during this period laid the foundation for the robust, engaged Nigerian community that we see today, not just in South Africa, but across the entire African continent.

As the former Chairman of APC South Africa, Engr. Babarinde earned accolades for his strategic leadership and political acumen. His ability to connect with Nigerians from all walks of life, from students to professionals, and even those in the entrepreneurial sector, has made him a figure of immense influence. He fostered a sense of unity and collective purpose among the diaspora, ensuring that Nigerian citizens abroad were aware of their civic duties and had access to the necessary platforms to advocate for policies that would positively impact both their communities abroad and the Nigerian nation.

Now serving as the General Secretary of the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen in Pretoria, South Africa, Engr. Babarinde continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening the relationship between Nigeria and its diaspora community. His leadership is characterized by his visionary outlook and his steadfast belief in the potential of the Nigerian diaspora to contribute significantly to national development. He has worked tirelessly to ensure that the voices of the diaspora are not only heard but are incorporated into the decision-making processes that influence the direction of the nation’s policies.

Under his stewardship as General Secretary, Engr. Babarinde has successfully collaborated with other key stakeholders to initiate numerous projects aimed at fostering social, economic, and political development in Nigeria. These initiatives focus on empowerment, the creation of job opportunities, and promoting educational exchange programs. Through his role, Engr. Babarinde has become a true advocate for diaspora engagement in nation-building, continuously emphasizing the importance of creating platforms for Nigerian expatriates to invest in and contribute to the country’s progress.

Beyond his political and leadership roles, Engr. Babarinde is widely respected for his personal values, including his generosity, humility, and selflessness. He is a man whose heart beats for the empowerment of others. His philanthropic efforts have touched many lives, particularly in his home country, where he has supported several community projects designed to uplift the less privileged. Whether it’s through educational initiatives, mentorship programs, or funding community development projects, Engr. Babarinde remains a man of action, not just words. His passion for uplifting others and his desire to contribute to the greater good of the nation make him a role model for the younger generation.

As we celebrate Engr. Bola Babarinde today, it is important to acknowledge the significant impact of his work, which spans beyond the realms of politics. He has played an integral role in building bridges, fostering collaboration, and strengthening the relationship between Nigeria and its diaspora. His vision for a united, prosperous Nigeria continues to inspire many, and his exemplary leadership serves as a guiding light for those striving to make a positive difference in their communities.

In a time when the world is increasingly interconnected, Engr. Bola Babarinde stands as a symbol of what is possible when we come together for a common purpose. His leadership not only strengthens the Nigerian community abroad but also plays a crucial role in the political and economic development of the country.

On behalf of myself, Dr. Tofunmi Ogunronbi, and the entire Nigerian community, both at home and abroad, we extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to Engr. Bola Babarinde on this special occasion. We thank him for his tireless dedication to the Nigerian cause and for the positive change he continues to bring to the lives of countless Nigerians.
