2 Air Peace Workers Docked For Swindling Passengers With Fake Tickets

Two Air Peace Airline workers, Ibrahim Adebayo, 32 and Odey John, 33, have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly swindling passengers by forging tickets at Muritala Mohammed International Airport.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that they were arrested and charged for conspiracy and forgery under the Criminal Laws of the State.

 

The incident happened on 21st December, 2024, at the Airport where they altered four tickets at the boarding gate of the airport and were caught by the management of the company.

 

They were subsequently handed over to the Police at the Airport Division for interrogation over their alleged conduct.

The two workers were found culpable after interrogation and then charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

 

The charges read:

COUNT 1: “That you, Ibrahim Adebayo ‘m’ and Odey Jonah ‘m’, on the 21 day of December, 2024, at about 21:25hrs, at the boarding Gate 6. Muritala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2. Ikeja, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire together to commit felony to-wit forgery and thereby sommitted an offence punishable under section 411 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT 2:”That you Odey Jonah ‘m’, on the same date, time and place in the mentioned Magisterial District, did alter four Airpeace Airline boarding tickets with numbers 7106351130356, 7106359710906, 7106351130358 and 6359710908 and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 363 (1) (a) and punishable under Section 365 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”

 

However, they pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.

 

The Prosecution Counsel, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
