A woman, who dumped her husband, Vincent Onyekachi Michael and 12-year daughter in Lagos State for another relationship, was shocked after the daughter informed her that her dad has been sleeping with her since she left the marriage.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the 61-year old man, Vincent Onyekachi Michael, has been arrested and charged for allegedly engaging his 12-year old biological daughter in sex severally without her consent.
The alleged defilement happened at Sadat Street, Abule-Egba area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the mother of the victim left her in the care of the man when she left the marriage over an undisclosed disagreement and was said to have moved on with her life with another man.
However, the alleged incest got exposed after the mother of the victim visited her and she revealed what was happening to her. The mother got broken for contributing to the trauma of the victim.
The mother then reported the matter to the DSVA in Alausa, Ikeja. The agency moved into action, arrested the man and transferred the matter to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for further investigation.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The charge read:

However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the Prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice  to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
