Justice Forum’ Show of Strength: A Boost for APC’s Electoral Capital in Alimosho

Posted on January 27, 2025

The Justice Forum, a prominent caucus within the All Progressives Congress (APC), held its General Meeting on Sunday in the Alimosho Federal Constituency, showcasing the party’s grassroots mobilization prowess under the leadership of Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.

The event, which drew an electrifying crowd of over 12,000 at Ebenezer Primary School, Egbeda, underscored the group’s readiness for the forthcoming local government elections and the 2027 general elections.

A key highlight of the event was the appeal by Sir Ayo Akinyemi, a respected APC leader and Justice Forum stalwart, who called on the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to uphold fairness and transparency in the upcoming local government elections.

The gathering also featured speeches from prominent stakeholders, including Hon. Akin Bashiru, a State Officer of the Justice Forum, who framed the meeting as a pivotal moment for the APC in Alimosho.

“This event for us is a constituency meeting to showcase our strength as a leading APC group in Alimosho. It’s also an opportunity to reassure our party and Mr. President that Alimosho is ready to lead in mobilizing votes for future victories,” Bashiru declared.

Reflecting on the party’s past performance, Akin Bash, as he’s fondly called, highlighted ongoing efforts to restore Alimosho’s dominance as a political stronghold.

“What happened during the last elections was unfortunate, but we are already working round the clock to unify all groups. By the time of the next election, Alimosho will reclaim its position as the political capital it has always been,” he affirmed.

The leadership of Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, a member of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and a central figure in Alimosho politics, was a recurring theme throughout the meeting.

Akin Bash praised her trailblazing achievements, noting her historic roles as the first female member of the Lagos State House of Assembly in 1993, a two-term Commissioner, a Deputy Governor, and her current position as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals.

“Her leadership has solidified Alimosho’s political relevance in Lagos State,” he added.

Addressing perceived divisions within the party, Vice Chairman of Alimosho LGA and Chairmanship aspirant Akinyemi Johnson dismissed such claims as part of the party’s mobilization strategy.

“You might call it division, but we see it as a mode of mobilizing people into the party. After this meeting, we believe things will take shape, and today, we have shown our strength,” Johnson explained, expressing optimism about the party’s unity moving forward.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, reiterated the need for LASIEC’s impartiality in the upcoming elections.

“Our advice to LASIEC is to ensure free and fair elections for the coming chairmanship and general elections. The party is ready to support them,” he said.

The event concluded on a high note, with a captivating performance by Fuji music icon, Alhaji Alabi Pasuma, leaving the energized crowd motivated for the challenges ahead.
