Woman, 38, Docked For Battering Nurse Inside Mayfair Medical Center 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the Medical Center premises, Agege area of Lagos.

The woman, Abosede, has been arrested and charged for the alleged assault under the Criminal Laws of the State.

However, the Police did not disclose the cause of the disagreement that led to the woman to have assaulted the nurse the way she did and even threatened to kill her during the squabble.

The alleged assault was reported to the Police in the area. The Police operatives moved into action, arrested the woman and detained her at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.

After interrogation,  the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

“That you, Babatunde Abosede ‘f’ of Mayfair Medical Centre Agege Lagos State sometime in December 2024 at Lagos within the Ikeja Judicial Division knowingly and unlawfully Assaulted one Miss. Philip Cecilia ‘f’ a Nursing Staff of Mayfair Medical Centre Agege thereby committed an offence of Assault Occasioning Harm Contrary to Section 173 of Lagos State Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 punishable under Section 351 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”

COUNT II:” That you, Babatunde Abosede ‘f’ of Mayfair Medical Centre Agege of the said aforementioned date in the Magisterial District, did threat the life of one Miss. Philip Cecilia ‘f’ a Staff Nurse of Mayfair Medical Centre, Agege, thereby commited an offence Contrary to Section 56 of Lagos State Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 punishable under Section 327 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”

However, she pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
