Consumer Protection: NCC Partners Innovations For Poverty Action

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), in its bid to ensure adequate protection for telecom subscribers, recently partnered Innovations for Poverty Action to further strengthen consumer protection framework.

The Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr Aminu Maida who signed on behalf of the telecoms regulatory body, said that the Commission would strive to improve complaint resolution, and drive evidence-based regulatory initiatives for a better consumer experience.

“This year, we are enhancing our analytical capacity to better protect telecommunications consumers by leveraging data for proactive decision-making.

“Through our recent partnership with Innovations for Poverty Action we are establishing an Embedded Consumer Lab to analyze consumer complaint trends, anticipate emerging issues, and inform policy decisions.

“By harnessing data effectively, we aim to strengthen consumer protection frameworks,” he said.
