Man Arrested For Recruiting Self Into Police With Rank Of Sergeant

Police operatives from the Ogun State Command have arrested a man, Harry Collins, who allegedly recruited self into the Nigeria Police Force and promoted himself to the rank of a sergeant. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Collins was arrested and charged by the Police for impersonating as a Police officer.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, who confirmed that the suspect was in Police custody undergoing interrogation over his alleged conduct.
CSP Odutola stated that the suspect was apprehended during a reconnaissance patrol led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, at Mangoro area of the State.
According to the State’s spokesperson, Odutola, Police officers on duty became suspicious of his presence while dressed in full Police uniform with a sergeant rank at the Long Bridge. He was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.
She disclosed that upon interrogation at the station, Collins was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for his impersonation, which further raised suspicion about his activities.
CSP Odutola added that investigations are ongoing to determine his motives and he will be charged to Court upon completion of the investigations.
The Command therefore, cautioned the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals posing as Police officers to appropriate quarters for action.
The suspect risks several years of imprisonment if found guilty by the Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
