Lagos State Govt Reaffirms Commitment To Quality Education At European Union Students Fair
The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality education to its citizens, as the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Tolani Sule, delivered an address at the European Union Students Fair.
The event, which took place on Saturday at the Federal Palace Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, provided a platform for Students of the Lagos State-owned institutions and others to explore educational prospects in Europe.
The Commissioner emphasised the importance of international collaboration and exchange programmes in promoting quality education.
“We are committed to providing our students with access to quality education, both locally and internationally. Our partnership with the European Union is a testament to the current administration’s dedication to excellence in education”, Sule said.
He informed the European Union members, students and other participants that the State Government has implemented various initiatives to enhance the quality of graduates from its state-owned tertiary institutions. Such as the EKO Digital Skills Programme and the Job Initiative Lagos, which provide training in digital skills, entrepreneurial skills, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, coding and job readiness.
The European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ambassador Gautier Mignot, encouraged students to take full advantage of studying in European Union universities to advance their knowledge, adding that many Nigerian students are already making the opportunity a reality.
The European Union Students Fair is part of the EU’s efforts to promote educational exchange and cooperation between Nigeria and Europe. The Students Fair featured exhibitions from top European Union universities and provided information on various topics related to education and career development.
