Jilted Man, 25, Arraigned For Posting Estranged Lover’s Nude Picture On Social Media

A jilted 25-year old man, Kelvin Musa Azeez, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly beating and posting his estranged lover’s nude pictures on the social media after dumping him. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports the incident happened on 11th February, 2025, at Ojodu area of Lagos, where the suspect resides.
According to the Police,  the suspect had a disagreement with the victim two days to Valentine Day and she told him that she was no longer interested in the relationship, which did not go down well with the suspect.
The suspect was alleged to have beaten her mercilessly, used his phone to take and posted her nude pictures on the social media for members of the public to watch.
The matter was reported to the Police. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained the suspect at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation,  the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read :
COUNT 1: “That you, Kelvin Musa Azeez ‘m’ on the 11th day of February 2025 around noon time, at Ojodu area of Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace by knowingly and intentionally sending an online video through your phone with sim card number 08064735848 via Whatsapp status and posted nude pictures of the victim and many people viewed it and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 168 (d) (2) of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II:” That you, Kelvin Musa Azeez ‘m’ on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did knowingly and intentionally send an online video through your phone with sim card number 08064735848 via Whatsapp status and posted nude picture of the victim and it was viewed by many people online and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 24 (1)(a)(b) (2)(a) and (i) of the cybercrime Act 2015.”
COUNT III:” That you, Kelvin Musa Azeez ‘m’ on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, without lawful authority based on an online video you circulated through your phone with sim card number 08064735848 via Whatsapp, did post nude picture of the victim on Whatsapp status for many people to view it and thereby committed an offence and punishable under Section 42 of the criminal code Act. Cap of the federation.”
COUNT IV:” That you, Kelvin Musa Azeez ‘m’ on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did unlawfully threaten through text messages to deal with the victim and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under Section 232 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT V:” That you, Kelvin Musa Azeez ‘M’ on the same date, time, place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did assault the victim by beating her and inflicted injuries on her face and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
