His decorated military career includes serving as Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, and previously, to the late Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja.

A graduate of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the U.S. Army War College, his strategic vision and leadership are expected to further the NYSC’s mission of fostering national unity and youth development.

WhatNext Africa is a leading organization dedicated to preparing secondary school students for their transition into higher education, employment, or entrepreneurship.

Through its “What Next After Secondary School Programme,” the organization equips students with the knowledge and guidance needed for informed career and life choices.

Key components of this initiative include: WhatNext Summit: Unlocking Post-Secondary Opportunities – A one-day interactive event that helps students navigate critical transition decisions, from choosing tertiary institutions to developing vocational skills.

In collaboration with the NYSC, WhatNext Africa engages corps members as facilitators and mentors, extending its reach and impact.

This partnership enables corps members to go beyond traditional teaching roles, offering career guidance, mentorship, and support to help students achieve their aspirations.

“As Brigadier-General Nafiu assumes leadership of the NYSC, we look forward to strengthening this collaboration and expanding our impact. His dedication to youth development aligns with our mission, and we are excited to work together to equip Nigeria’s young people with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive,” the organisation stated.
