2 Notorious Thieves Jailed 3 Years For Stealing Tricycle At Aso Rock Hotel

Two thieves, Daramola Ibrahim, 21 and Sodiq Yekeni, 22, have been sentenced to three years imprisonment without an option of fine in Lagos State for stealing tricycle worth N3.4m at Aso Rock Hotel.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the convicts were arrested and charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for conspiracy and stealing.
The charges read:
“That you, Daramola Ibrahim “m”, Sodiq Yekini “m” and others still at large, on 14th March, 2025, at about 0105hours, at Aso Rock Hotel & Suites, No. 37, Abaranje Road, Ikotun-Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire together to commit felony to wit; stealing and thereby committed an offence Contrary to and Punishable under Section 411, of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Daramola Ibrahim “m” on same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by roaming about within the premises of Aso Rock Hotel with yet to be identified tools, having specialized in disconnecting ignition keys from vehicles, tricycles and motorcycles from parks, knowing fully that you are not a mechanic nor electrician working for the said hotel and thereby committed an offence Contrary to and Punishable under Section 168(d), of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Daramola Ibrahim “m” on same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did steal one tricycle (TVS) with registration number EPE-547-QC valued Three Million, Four Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N3, 450,000.00) property of One Omotosho David “m” and thereby committed an offence Contrary to Section 280 and Punishable under Section 287, of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, presented the facts of the matter and told the Court that since the defendants admitted to have committed the offence by pleading guilty, they should be sentenced accordingly to serve as deterrent to others who might want to commit such crime in future.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola found them guilty as charged and sentenced them accordingly.
