Robber Jailed Four Years, Happy Over Judgment
CYRIACUS IZUEKWE

A 24-year old convicted criminal, Mr. Abdulahi Ahmed exhibited a strange behaviour by expressing satisfaction after he was sentenced to four years imprisonment without an option of fine in Lagos.
The convict was brought before Isolo Magistrates court and charged for armed robbery by the police.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that he was able to escape the charge for armed robbery and he pleaded guilty to the other four count charges against him.
During the fact and sentence proceedings, the prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale told the court that Ahmed used cutlass to rob one Alasan Garba and stole his properties including his phones, wristwatch and other valuables.
He said the incident happened at Oluwalodami Street in Idi Araba area of Mushin, Lagos.
Uagbale also informed the court that Ahmed burgled a provision store, stole some items and escaped before he was later arrested and brought to court.
He asked the court to sentence Ahmed accordingly so that it will serve as deterrent to other criminals who might want to commit similar offence.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Teuwo found him guilty as charged. Ahmed however pleaded for leniency and promised to be a changed person if he was set free and allowed to go home.
His pleading may not have worked as the court handed him four years imprisonment without an option of fine.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Ahmed expressed happiness and satisfaction over the judgment as he concluded that it was better than facing armed robbery trial which may last longer than the judgment.
