Man, 29, Arranged For Fondling Breasts & Engaging Girl, 13, In Sex

A 29-year old man, Segun Olonade, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring a 13-year old girl into sex by fondling her breasts, getting her confused and unable to resist him. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Olonade, has been arrested and charged for defilement under the Criminal Laws of the State over his alleged conduct.

 

The incident happened on 18th February, 2025, at Jieolowo Street, Imude, Ojo, Lagos, where the suspect resides.

 

According to Police, the suspect lured the victim to his apartment, used words of mouth to hold her before he fondled her breasts, she became more confused and was unable to resist him before he engaged her in sex.

 

However, the victim later regained her senses and informed her parents about what happened. The matter was reported to the Police at Ilembe Hausa Division. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation.

 

During interrogation, the suspect claimed that the victim consented to the act but she insisted that he lured her into the act without her consent after fondling her breasts.

 

The Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charge read:

“That you, Segun Olonade, on the 18th day of February, 2025, at 22, lleolowo Imude, Ojo Lagos, in the Magisterial District, did defile the victim, 13years by forcefully having carnal knowledge of her and thereby committed. punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
