Man, 27, Sent To Prison For Kicking Rival’s Scrotrum During Public Brawl

A 27-year old man, Abiodun Azeez, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly kicking the scrotrum of his rival, Godwin Agim and seriously injuring him in the process.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Azeez, has been arrested and charged for the alleged assault.

 

According to the Police, the suspect and the complainant had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter, which led to a physical fight between the duo. And while the fight was on, Azeez targeted and kicked the complainant on his scotrorum. He slumped and the fight ended abruptly.

 

Azeez attempted to escape but he was held and handed over to the Police at Ojo Division for interrogation over his alleged conduct while the victim was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was revived.

 

After interrogation, he was found culpable by the Police and charged before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

 

The charge read:

“That you, Abiodun Azeez ‘M’ on the 24th February, 2025 at about 17:30 hrs at Iyana-Iba, Bridge in the Ojo Magisterial District, did kick one Godwin Agim ‘M’ on his scrotrum and assaulted him and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 178 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M.Ogun, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with ons surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned till 14th April, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
