How Single Lady, 39, Beat Married Woman Mercilessly For Taunting Her Over Husband

A married woman, Mrs. Ngozi Eze, had a nasty experience in Lagos State for allegedly taunting her single female neighbour, Miss Eze Joy, over inability to get husband and in anger, she beat the married woman mercilessly and injured her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 15th day of April, 2025, at about 0900hrs, at Orilowo Street, Ejigbo area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect had a disagreement with the complainant over an undisclosed matter. In the process, the married woman taunted her over inability to get a husband. The lady then attacked and assaulted her seriously.
The complainant was taken to an undisclosed hospital due injury she sustained and the matter was reported to the Police at Ejigbo Division. The Police operatives arrested the lady and detained her at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read :
“That you, Joy Eze ‘f’, on the 15th day of April, 2025, at about 0900hrs, at No 5, Orilowo Street, Ejigbo, Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by causing nuisance in a public place and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 168 (d) of the Criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
Count II:”That you, Joy Eze ‘f’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did unlawfully assault Ngozi Eze ‘f’ ‘m’ by beating her, which caused her bodily harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted her bail with surety, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while address will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
