Lady, 24, Subdues Rival Neighbour With Several Bites During Public Brawl

A 24-year old lady, Blessing Okon, has displayed her fighting skills on her female neighbour, Elizabeth Animashaun, by subduing her with several bites during a public fight in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 7th May, 2025, at Foursquare Street, Abesan Estate, Ipaja, Lagos, where they reside.
Although Blessing Okon reportedly defeated her rival, Elizabeth Animashaun, during the fight, Blessing was arrested and charged before for the alleged assault on Elizabeth.
According to the Police, the duo had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter, which led the suspect to move to the complainant’s apartment where they had exchange of words.
In the process, the suspect gave the complainant a surprise attack by grabbing and inflicting bites on her shoulder and chest.
The alleged assault was reported to the Police at Ipaja Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her conduct. And after interrogation, the Police found her culpable. She was consequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read:
“That you, Blessing Okon ‘F’ on the 7th day of May, 2025 at No. 4 Foursquare Street, Abesan Estate, Ipaja, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did assault one Elizabeth Animashaun ‘F’ by using your teeth to bite her on her right shoulder and chest, which caused her bodily harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Blessing Okon ‘F’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did take N120,000:00 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira only), property of one Elizabeth Animashaun ‘F’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Blessing Okon ‘F’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by leaving your apartment to Elizabeth Animashaun’s apartment to fight her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168(d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria,2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 18th June, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
