Police operatives attached to the Obosi Divisional Headquarters on 17th May, 2025, recovered a stolen shuttle bus with Reg No: AGU 651 ZL belonging to the Transport Company of Anambra State popularly known as (TRACAS) at Nkwelle, Oyi Local Government Area.
According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, the operatives swung into action following a distress call to the Anambra State Police Command Control Room by the driver on how the five-man armed criminal gang disguised themselves as passengers and dispossessed him of a cash sum of Twenty thousand Naira (N20,000) only and the shuttle bus.
Consequently, the operatives acted swiftly and alerted the necessary security checkpoints to deny the criminals access to escape, which forced the hoodlums to abandon the vehicle at Slaughter Junction, in Nkwelle and fled through a nearby bush.
Meanwhile, security patrols have been intensified in the area to enhance safety and nip to the bud any untoward situation and for possible arrest of the fleeing suspects.
