Man, 49, Arraigned For Stealing Nissan Primera Worth N4m

A 49-year old man, Ganiyu Ogunrobi, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly stealing Nissan Primera worth N4m belonging to Kehinde Taiwo Samuel.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Ogunrobi, has been arrested and charged for the alleged stealing under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The incident happened at Aboru area of Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, where the suspect resides.
According to the Police, the suspect carried and sold the vehicle without the consent of the complainant, who later discovered that the vehicle was stolen.
The matter was reported to the Police at Gowon Estate Division. The suspect was then arrested and detained for interrogation, after which the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Ganiyu Ogunrobi “M” on March, 2025 at about 1200hrs at Aboru, Iyana Ipaja Area, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did steal Nissan Primera vehicle valued the sum of Four million Naira (N4,000,000.00) only property of one Kehinde Taiwo Samuel and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal law of the Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola, granted him bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 16th June, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
