Man, 38, Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing N13m Lexus SUV Parked At Housing Estate

Police operatives from Area P Command, Alagbado, Lagos, have arrested a 38-year old man, Tayo Faseyitan, for allegedly stealing N13m Lexus SUV belonging to Donald Michael, which was parked at Federal Housing Estate in the State. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 13th June,2025 at Federal Low Cost Housing Estate, Ipaja, Lagos.

 

According to the Police, the suspect went where the Lexus SUV was parked and escaped with the vehicle. When the owner discovered that the vehicle has been stolen, he reported to the Police.

 

The Police operatives moved into action. trailed the suspect, eventually arrested and detained him at the Command for interrogation over the missing vehicle.

 

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

Count I: “That you, Tayo Faseyitan ‘M’, on the 13th of June, 2025 at at about 06:20hpm at D31, Federal Lowest Cost Housing Estate, Ipaja, Lagos State, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did steal one RX 350 Lexus SUV 2010 model valued at N13,500,000.00K (Thirteen Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) property of one Donald Michael ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 280 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

Count II: “That you, Tayo Faseyitan ‘M’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned till 10th July, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
