Veset Partners with swXtch.io to Deliver Cloud Multicasting Capability to Broadcasters Ahead of IBC

Posted on July 10, 2025

The integration of Veset’s cloud playout solution, Nimbus, with swXtch.io’s cloudSwXtch, a virtual overlay network, gives broadcasters, content owners and rightsholders a scalable, flexible and cost-effective way to transmit live video feeds to viewers. This allows for content to be delivered simultaneously to Veset Nimbus and various other third-party products, without the need for added complexity of unicast to many endpoints. This is particularly valuable for tier 1 and 2 broadcasters operating multi-channel operations, as well as broadcasters using alt-casting (alternate broadcasting).

Popular with sports broadcasting, alt-casting enables broadcasters to deliver different coverage and content to the main broadcast of an event, in order to appeal to a wider audience. Alt-casting can be used to deliver derivative channels, and to meet the demands of different countries for regional broadcasters for alternate captions, titles, etc. It can be used to deliver broadcasts to different platforms and in different formats including satellite replacement and FAST.

Nimbus is an enterprise-grade, intuitive, all-in-one, cloud-native playout solution for management and delivery of professional linear channels to any distribution platform, from traditional terrestrial digital, satellite or cable, to OTT. cloudSwXtch is a cloud-native solution that creates a virtual overlay network allowing software workloads running on virtual machines to distribute their information as if they were running on a physical network. It bridges on-prem and cloud infrastructure and enables features unavailable on cloud networks such as multicast, PTP, packet pacing, and custom packet filtering, to be implemented on the cloudSwXtch virtual network.

Lelde Ardava, COO, Veset, commented: “Broadcasters today need the flexibility and scalability that the cloud offers, yet for many, the inability to easily multicast in the cloud has been a barrier to cloud adoption. Veset’s partnership with swXtch.io overcomes that pain point by delivering streamlined cloud multicasting capability. It also supports Nimbus users to reach a wider audience with alt-casts.”

Patrick McCoy, Chief Product Officer, swXtch.io added: “By combining swXtch.io and Veset technologies, we’re offering broadcasters the ability to multicast in a cloud environment, mimicking on-prem capability. It brings on-prem multicast to the cloud in one network for scalability, flexibility and cost efficiency. This collaboration with Veset will enable us to support broadcasters to leverage the cloud to gain the many benefits it offers.”

Veset is exhibiting at IBC from 12th – 15th September 2025 in Amsterdam on Booth 5.D52. Get in touch to arrange a meeting.
