Lady, 21, Arraigned For Slicing Rival Lady With Razor Blade During Public Brawl

A 21-year old lady, Aisha Mohammed, has been arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting her rival, Hajiya Miima Salisu, by slicing her body with razor blade during a public brawl.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 16th day of August, 2025, at about 1800hrs at Alaba Rago Market, Ojo area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect and the complainant had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter, which led to exchange of words and degenerated into a fight between them.
In the process, the suspect, Aisha, brought a razor blade and inflicted injury on the complainant’s lap. She was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ojo Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct against the complainant.
The Police found her culpable after interrogation and charged her before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Aisha Mohammed ‘F’ on the 16th day of August 2025 at about 1800hrs at Alaba Rago Market, Ojo, in the Ojo Magisterial District, did unlawfully assault one Hajiya Miima Salisu ‘F’ by using a razor blade to inflict injury on her lap, which caused her bodily harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
