A 39-year old man, Joseph Alao Ojo, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring and engaging a 14-year old girl in sex romp.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Ojo, has been arrested and charged for the alleged defilement under the Criminal law of the State.
The incident happened on 24th day of July, 2025, at Aina Akinbola Street, Omole Phase II, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim into his apartment and seduced her before he engaged her in sexual intercourse by penetration. And having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go and warned her not to tell anyone about it.
However, the information leaked and the victim’s parents asked her what happened. She then revealed how the suspect lured and engaged her in the act without her consent.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
While being interrogated at the Gender Section, the suspect reportedly admitted to have done so with the consent of the victim. But that could not save him because of the age of the victim.
The Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Joseph Alao Ojo ‘m’, on the 24th day of July, 2025, at Aina Akinbola Street, Omole Phase II, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile one girl ‘f 14years old by having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However,  the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor,  Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
