A 20-year old man, Ayo Olamilekan, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly entering into the house of Lagos Governor’s Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, to steal.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 15th August, 2025, at Ladoke Akintola Street, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect sneaked into the premises at odd hours with the intention to steal when the occupants were not around.
However, he was unlucky. Before he would steal from the house,  the security men on duty apprehended him and handed over to the Police at Ikeja Division for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation,  the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT 1: “That you, Ayo Olamilekan ‘m’, on the 15th day of August, 2025 at about 0240hrs, at Ladoke Akintola Street, GRA Ikeja Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did attempt to commit felony by entering the compound or premises of Lagos Chief of Staff, one Tayo Ayinde and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under Section 406 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Ayo Olamilekan ‘m’, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did enter the premises of Lagos Chief of Staff, one Tayo Ayinde, with the intention to steal and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 306 and punishable under Section 308 of Crimirtal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty and informed the Court that he had not stolen anything yet before he was caught.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
