Posted on November 29, 2025

As the D-day for the Asaba 10km International Road Race draws closer, the organisers of the marathon race say they are leaving nothing to chance to ensure that a befitting and hitch free event is held.

The Asaba International Road Race, an event powered by the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, is a one-day road race, which has been scheduled to hold on Saturday, 6 December 2025 in Asaba, capital city of Delta State, south-south Nigeria.

Already with strict supervision of certified route markers from the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), the route marking and measurements of the race have been perfected in line with international standards of road races across the world.

According to the organisers, the race commences in front of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, proceeding down Ibusa Road. Participants will then execute a right turn onto DLA Road, continuing all the way to Summit.

A subsequent right turn onto Summit Road leads across the Interbua Bridge. Following this, a right turn onto Anwai Road will direct runners straight down the one-way Nnebisi Road, culminating back at the stadium.

Accreditation of participants will also commence on 1 December 2025 at Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

It was gathered that there will be international participation of elite runners across Africa with entries from Kenya and Ethiopia already.
