Man, 43, Burgles Warehouse, Carts Away N17m Goods At Trade Fair Complex

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in September, 2025, during the day time at Swiss Park, in the warehouse belonging to Ebenezer Nwaugo.

According to the Police, the suspect and others broke into the warehouse, stole the items and escaped before the complainant later discovered that the warehouse was burgled and the items stolen.

The matter was reported to the Police at Trade Fair Complex Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After thorough interrogation,  the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read::

“That you, Emmanuel Amagbo and others at large in the month of September, 2025, during the day time at Swiss Park, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial district, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: warehouse breaking, stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to, and punishable under Section 411, Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”

COUNT II:-“That you, Emmanuel Amagbo and others at large on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial district, did break and enter into the warehouse of one Ebenezer Nwaugo ‘m’ with intent to commit felony therein and thereby committed an offence contrary to, and punishable under Section 310, of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”

COUNT III:”That you, Emmanuel Amagbo and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial district, did dishonestly steal One Hundred and Ninety Six (196) Cartons of Toyota Oil value Eighty Seven thousand Naira (N87,000) each, total value Seventeen million, Fifty two thousand Naira (N17,052,000.00) property of one Ebenezer Nwaugo ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 280 and punishable under Section 287(5)(1), of the Lagos State 2015.”

However, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted him bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
