Man, 28, Arraigned For Parading Self As Military Officer 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Anyawu Ebuka, was apprehended on 17th November,2025 at the Military Arena in Oshodi area of Lagos while wearing Military face cap and military camouflage knicker and using same as an advantage embarrass innocent citizens.

When he was accosted by the Police,  he allegedly brought out a fake Nigeria Navy Military identity card with the intent to present himself as a member of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

However, on further investigation, the Police found him culpable for impersonation and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

“That you, Anyawu Ebuka ‘m’ and other at large, on the 17th day of November, 2025 at about 1200hrs, at Arena Oshodi area of Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: impersonation and thereby committed an offence Contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

COUNT II: “That you, Anyawu Ebuka ‘m’ and others at large, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did impersonate Nigerian Navy by wearing a Military face cap and military camouflage knicker, using it as an advantage to be embarrassing innocent citizen and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 77(a)(b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

COUNT III: “That you, Anyawu Ebuka ‘m’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did have in your possession a fake Nigerian Navy Military card with intent to present yourself as a member of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 363 and punishable under Section 365(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
