Man, 27, Arraigned For Murder Over Killing Of Victim Inside Mushin Ghetto

A 27-year old man, Sunday Ige, has landed in trouble over the alleged killing of a victim, Owolabi Anuge, through jungle Justice inside the notorious ghetto at Idi-Oro, Alakara area of Mushin, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Ige, has been arrested and charged for the alleged murder under the Criminal Law of the State.
The incident happened on 20th September,2025, inside the ghetto where the victim, Owolabi Anuge, was reported murdered in a jungle Justice for committing an undisclosed offence.
The alleged murder was reported to the Commissioner of Police Tactical team. The Police operatives moved into action, arrested the leader, Ige and detained him for interrogation at the Command over the killing.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Sunday Ige and others at large on the 20th Day of September, 2025, at about 0330hrs at the ghetto in Idi-oro Alakara Area of Mushin Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: murder thereby comnitted an offence punishable under Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Sunday Ige and others at large on the same date, time and place at the aforementioned magisterial district, did neglect/fail to stop the killing of one OWOLABI ANUGE ‘M’ which you were in a position to stop and thereby committed an offence punishable der Section 119 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted the request and ordered the remand of the defendant in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
