3 Men Arraigned For Intercepting Truck Containing N154m Worth Of Goods On Highway

The Police have arrested three men, Shaibu Dantala, 38, Ali Abu, 44, and Yusuf Zakari, 18, for allegedly intercepting and stealing a truck laden with two 20-feet containers with goods worth N154m belonging to Dominic Nse Peter on the highway in Lagos State. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 10th November, 2025, at Agbara area of Lagos.

According to the Police, the suspect and others now at large, dishonestly stole the truck with the Registration number ABC 430 XM conveying two 20-feet containers laden with contact Adhesive-Gum valued at N154m property of Mr. Dominic Nse Peter.

However, the matter was reported to the Police at the State Command. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects and detained them at the Command for interrogation over the alleged offence.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

COUNT I: “That you, Shaibu Dantala ‘m’, Ali Abu ‘m’, Yusuf Zakari ‘m’ and others at large, on the 10th November, 2025 at 1700hrs at Agbara, Lagos in the Lagos magisterial district, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

COUNT II:”That you, Shaibu Dantala ‘m’, Ali Abu ‘m’, Yusuf Zakari ‘m’ and others at large, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid magisterial district, did dishonestly steal a truck with Registration number ABC 430 XM conveying two 20ft containers laden with contact Adhesive-Gum valued at One Hundred and Fifty Four Million Naira (N154,000,000.00), property of Mr. Dominic Nse Peter and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280(1)(a)(b) and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

However, they pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
