A 50-year old man, Joseph Nwosu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly seducing his 15-year old biological daughter by fondling her breasts and defiling her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident started at Akinfewa Street, Dangote, Ayobo and Abesan Estate, Ipaja Lagos, where they resided.
According to the Police, the man first defiled the victim when she was 9 and in primary school and continued until when she was 15. He started molesting her by touching her breasts, private part and then lured her into the act.
The victim however, could no longer bear the trauma of her biological father engaging her in such awful conduct. She then reported to the Police at Ipaja Division and the man was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Joseph Nwosu, at Akinfewa Street, Dangote, Ayobo, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did unlawfully defile the victim ‘F’ when she was 9 years old in Primary School by having sexual intercourse with her, without her consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
