How Nigeria U-15 Midfield Sensation Raheem Salaudeen Was Discovered During 2023 NLO Season

Nigeria’s youth football scene continues to produce exciting talents, and one of the latest prospects is Raheem Moyinoluwa Salaudeen, a talented midfielder, who has represented the Nigeria national under-15 football team.
Salaudeen was first discovered during the 2023 season of the Nationwide League One, Nigeria’s third-tier football league. His breakthrough came on his debut match against Lekki United FC, where his impressive performance immediately caught the attention of football observers.
The young midfielder was spotted by the Chief Operating Officer of the league, Shola Ogunowo, during matches played at the National Stadium Lagos Legacy Pitch. Salaudeen quickly gained recognition for his composure on the ball, vision, and maturity in midfield, becoming one of the youngest players to feature in the league.
His appearance in the league generated widespread discussion across social media platforms, particularly on Twitter, where his name trended among football fans and stakeholders. The buzz also attracted the attention of the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau.
Football analysts say Salaudeen’s rise highlights the importance of grassroots development and the vital role the Nationwide League One plays in providing young talents with opportunities to showcase their abilities on a national stage.
Continuing his development at youth level, Salaudeen earned his first national team call-up at the age of 14 to represent Nigeria in a two-legged friendly match in Morocco. He later received his second national team invitation at the age of 15 to participate in the All African School Games 2025 held in Algeria.
The Nationwide League One continues to prove itself as one of the most effective platforms for discovering and nurturing young football talents who aspire to reach the peak of their careers.
