Man, 23, Docked For Abducting Girl, 17, For Sex Romp For Several Days

A 23-year old man, John Semiu, has landed in trouble for allegedly luring a 17-year old girl from Ado Royal Garden Estate, Abule-Ado, Lagos to Oko-Afo area of Badagry and engaging her in marathon sex for several days.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, John Semiu, has been arrested and charged for abduction and defilement under the criminal law of the State.
The incident happened in January,2026 at the Royal Garden Estate, Abule-Ado, Lagos.
The victim was said to be in the custody of her guardian before the suspect abducted and engaged her in the act for several days.
The matter later got exposed after the information leaked and it was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was trailed, arrested and then the matter was transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, John Semiu ‘m’ sometime in month of January, 2026, at Ado Royal Garden Estate, Abule-Ado, Lagos, did abduct the victim, 17 years in custody of one Daniel Nanie Shidor, her guardian to Oko-Afo of Badagry and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 269 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
Count II:”That you, John Semiu ‘m’, sometime in the month of January, 2026, at Oko-Afo Area of Badagry, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim, 17years old, by having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
