The NYSC official, Olalekan was said to have contacted the nurse to supply the abortion drugs to late Victoria Ariyo, which she took and there were complications, which led to her death.

The prosecutor stated that the alleged offences contravened Sections 516, 230, 324 and 319 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, 2006, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Sam-Obaleye, granted the application and ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Ibara Correctional Centre, pending legal advice from the State DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 26th May, 2026, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
