Man, 30, Docked For Allegedly Penetrating One-Year Old Baby With Finger

A 30-year old man, Favour Akpele, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly using his finger to penetrate the private part of his neighbour’s one-year old baby.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect has been arrested and charged for statutory rape under the Criminal Law of the State over his alleged conduct.
The incident happened on 21st of February, 2026, at Golden Estate, Esa-Otu Close in Lagos.
The alleged dastardly act was reported to the Police and the suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation at the Gender Section, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Favour Akpele ‘m’, on the 21st of February 2026, at Golden Estate, Esa-Otu Close in the Lagos Magisterial District, did penetrate the vagina of the victim ‘f aged 1year by putting your finger into her vagina and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
