A 70-year old landlady,  Comfort Obadele and her accomplice, Dickson Maxwell, 54, have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly conspiring and forcefully ejecting tenant without Court order.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the duo has been arrested and charged for their alleged conduct.
The incident happened on 4th February, 2026, at No 39, Audu Lawal Street, Ishefun, Ayobo, Lagos where the tenant,  Kehinde Dada rented an apartment.
According to the Police, the tenant had a disagreement with the landlady and she arranged with her accomplice, broke the tenant’s apartment and packed out his properties.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ayobo Division. The landlady and her accomplice were then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct against the complainant.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, COMFORT OBADELE ‘F’ and DICKSON MAXWELL ‘M’ on the 4th day of February, 2026, at about 0920 hrs, at Audu Lawal Street, Ishefun, Ayobo, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by unlawfully packing out the properties of one Kehinde Dada “M” who was a tenant and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 280 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Josephine Ihkayere, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
