In his sustained drive to promote environmental cleanliness and public safety, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Thursday embarked on his routine environmental inspection and enforcement exercise across key areas within the local government.

The exercise, which covered Awolowo Way, Computer Village, Oba Akran, and the Guinness axis, underscores the Chairman’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment for residents and businesses.

Speaking during the exercise, the Council Chairman reiterated that a cleaner environment is directly linked to improved public health, safety, and economic productivity. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the vision of the I.K.E.J.A Agenda, particularly its focus on creating a conducive environment where businesses can thrive and residents can enjoy a better quality of life.

The enforcement team comprised officials of LAWMA, personnel of LASPARK, Supervisory Councillors, and staff of the Ikeja Local Government Environmental Department led by the Head of Department, Sanitarian Omotayo, alongside other key officials of Ikeja House.

Residents and business owners who witnessed the exercise commended the Council Chairman for his hands-on leadership style and consistency. They lauded his strong political will and proactive measures in ensuring environmental sustainability, noting that his administration continues to make significant impact across various sectors, positioning Ikeja as one of the most functional and progressive local governments in Nigeria.

The Comrade Dauda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining the momentum, urging residents and stakeholders to take collective responsibility in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
