President Tinubu Mourns Late Ex-NFA Boss, Galadima

Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the death of former Nigeria Football Association (NFA) president and astute sports administrator, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, describing his passing as a major blow to Nigeria’s sporting community.

Galadima, who served as NFA chairman between 2002 and 2006 was pronounced dead on Saturday at the age of 78.

In a statement issued on Sunday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President paid tribute to the Kano-born sports administrator, noting that his contributions to the development of football in Nigeria remain significant.

Tinubu described the late Galadima as a sports promoter who positively influencedall fronts, thereby believing his legacy would positively impact future generations.

“His contributions to the growth of Nigerian football will be remembered for a long time,” the President confirmed, stating that the country has lost a committed soul who gave his best towards the development of sports across the nation.

The former NFA chairmanmade his mark at both the state and federal levels, later served as chairman of the Kano State Sports Council, including being a two-time commissioner in the state.

President Tinubu extended his condolences to the family of the sports administrator, as well as the government and good people of Kano State, and the wider sports community in Nigeria and beyond.
