A 42-year old man, Enoch Joseph, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging a 15-year girl in sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 19th March, 2026, at Jubuloye Street, Jesuoseun Kola Bus/stop Alagbado, Lagos State.
He was said to have lured the victim, got her confused and engaged her in sex.
However, the information leaked to the victim’s parents and the matter was reported to the Police at Alakuko Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, ENOCH JOSPEH ‘M’ on 19th day of March, 2026 at about 09:30 hours at No 2, Jubuloye Street, Jesuoseun Kola Bus/stop Alagbado, Lagos State, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did defile the victim ‘F’ aged 15 years by having unlawful canal knowledge of her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
