Lady, 36, Docked For Biting Off Rival’s Finger During Public Brawl

A 36-year old lady, Barakat Adewuye, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly biting off the finger of her rival, Oluwakemi Titiloye, during a public brawl.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 30th March, 2026, at  Shopeju Street, Shogunle, Oshodi area of Lagos State.
According to the Police, the suspect and the complainant had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter, which led to exchange of words and fighting.
During the fight, the suspect grabbed the complainant finger and bit it off. She was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the Police at
Shogunle Police Station. The suspect was arrested and detained for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Barakat Adewuye, on the 30th day of March, 2026, at about 20 00hrs at No. 22 Shopeju Street, Shogunle Oshodi, Lagos State, in the Ikeja magisterial district, did assault occassing harm one Oluwakemi Titiloye ‘f’ by using your teeth to bite off her right finger and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II: -“That you, Barakat Adewuye ‘f’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did unlawfully inflict wound on one Oluwakemi Titiloye ‘F, using your teeth to bite off her right finger and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 246 (A) and (B) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
