Apostolic Faith Church Hosts Inspiring 2026 Children’s Concert To Celebrate Children’s Week

The Apostolic Faith Church, West and Central Africa Headquarters, Anthony Village, Lagos, hosted a spiritually uplifting and musically inspiring 2026 Children’s Concert on Saturday, May 23, themed “The Wonders of God.”
The event formed part of activities marking the annual Children’s Week celebration ahead of Children’s Day, observed every May 27 in Nigeria.
The concert, organized by the Elementary Department of the church, drew parents, ministers, music enthusiasts, and members of the congregation to an evening filled with worship, orchestral renditions, choral presentations, and instrumental performances by children across different age groups.
Known for its strong commitment to nurturing children in music ministry and Christian values, the Apostolic Faith Church has continued to build generations of young musicians who gradually grow into junior choristers, senior choir and orchestra, ministers within the church.
The programme featured a rich blend of hymns, multilingual worship songs, choral anthems, orchestral performances, and instrumental solos. Highlights included renditions of “Majesty, Worship His Majesty,” “I Stand in Awe of You,” “The Heavens Are Telling” by F. J. Haydn, and “The Sweetest Song I Know,” alongside indigenous worship songs presented in Igbo (Nwoge Nta), Efik (Uyai Abasi Mi), and Yoruba (Di Jesu Mu).
The Children’s Concert was performed by the Little Stars and teenagers aged 5 to 15, approximately 400 choir members and 120 orchestra members.
The concert concluded with a playlet titled “Where Do I Go?” accompanied by the choir humming and singing “Jesus Is the Answer.”
Speaking on the significance of the concert and the church’s vision for children’s development, the Superintendent of the Elementary Department, Mrs. Kemi Johnson described the annual event as a platform for spiritual, moral, and musical growth among children.
“At Apostolic Faith Church, we believe children are precious vessels in God’s hands and must be nurtured intentionally. Through music, worship, discipline, and teamwork, we are raising children who will not only excel musically but will also become committed Christians and future leaders in the church and society,” she said.
Mrs. Johnson further noted that the church remains passionate about discovering and developing talents early, adding that many of today’s youth choristers and senior orchestra members began their musical journey in the children’s department.
Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Eno Bamgbola, a long-standing teacher in the Elementary Department, emphasized the importance of consistency and mentorship in shaping the children.
“It is always fulfilling to see these children grow with confidence and excellence over the years. Some of them started by learning simple choruses and basic musical notes, and today they are instrumentalists, choristers, and music ministers serving faithfully in the church. This is a legacy we are proud to sustain,” she stated.
Children from various units including the choir, Orchestra, keyboards playing, little stars group, cello section, and violin section delivered outstanding performances that reflected months of dedication, rehearsals, and intensive preparation.
The annual Children’s Week celebration remains one of the church’s notable initiatives focused on celebrating children while equipping them spiritually, intellectually, and creatively for future impact.
The concert ended on a joyful and uplifting note with worship, appreciation, and renewed commitment by the church to continue investing in the spiritual and musical development of children.
