As the FIFA World Cup 2026 reaches its grand finale, StarTimes Nigeria has announced plans to host a major FIFA World Cup Final Watch Party alongside the grand draw of its nationwide “Watch the World Cup. Win ₦10 Million” promotion, bringing six weeks of football excitement to a thrilling conclusion.

The final, scheduled for Sunday, July 19, will see defending champions Argentina take on Spain after both nations emerged victorious from two highly competitive semi-final encounters that many football fans have described as “finals before the final.”

Throughout the tournament, football lovers have witnessed unforgettable moments, dramatic upsets and world-class performances as the expanded FIFA World Cup captivated audiences across the globe. For the first time in the competition’s history, the tournament’s top four ranked teams reached the semi-finals, producing a fitting climax to what has been widely regarded as one of the greatest World Cups ever staged.

As one of the official broadcast partners of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Nigeria, StarTimes has delivered all 104 matches LIVE throughout the tournament. Subscribers can watch the final live at 8:00 p.m. on ST World Football (Channels 254 & 245).

To celebrate the conclusion of the tournament, StarTimes will host a FIFA World Cup Final Watch Party at King Jaja Hall, University of Lagos (UNILAG).

The watch party is being organised in partnership with Meridianbet Nigeria, bringing together two leading brands to deliver an exciting match-day experience featuring live entertainment, fan engagement activities, giveaways and the live broadcast of the FIFA World Cup Final. Gates open at 6:00 p.m.

Speaking on the event, Marketing Director, Oke Umurhohwo, said the watch party is designed not only to give football fans a memorable World Cup final experience but also to reward subscribers for their loyalty throughout the tournament.

“The FIFA World Cup has brought millions of Nigerians together over the past six weeks, and we wanted to end the tournament in a memorable way. Beyond watching the biggest match in world football, this event is an opportunity to celebrate our subscribers by rewarding 22 lucky winners, including one person who will walk away with the 10 million naira grand prize. We remain committed to making premium football more accessible, exciting and rewarding for our customers.”

The highlight of the event will be the grand draw of the “Watch the World Cup. Win ₦10 Million” promotion.

The draw will produce 22 winners, comprising:

One winner of the ₦10 Million Grand Prize

Seven winners of StarTimes H30 Solar Home Systems

Fourteen winners of StarTimes S130B Solar + TV Bundles

The promotion formed part of StarTimes’ nationwide FIFA World Cup campaign, which combined live tournament coverage with customer rewards, discounted decoder prices, affordable subscription packages and extensive consumer engagement activities across the country.

Since the campaign commenced, StarTimes says it has recorded strong nationwide participation, with increased decoder activations, subscription renewals and customer engagement across its dealer and retail network.

Earlier in the tournament, the company announced significant reductions in decoder prices and made the FIFA World Cup available on its Basic Bouquet from just ₦4,000, ensuring millions more Nigerians could enjoy every moment of football’s biggest spectacle.

With the final set to bring the curtain down on almost six weeks of football action across the United States, Canada and Mexico, attention will now shift to the crowning of the new world champions and the announcement of 22 lucky StarTimes winners.

The company said the watch party represents the culmination of one of its biggest consumer campaigns in recent years, combining world-class football with life-changing rewards while reaffirming StarTimes’ commitment to delivering affordable sports entertainment and rewarding loyal subscribers across Nigeria.
