Cecil Hammond’s Flytime Enters Global Sports With Team PRONC In UIM E1 World Championship

Flytime Group, a leading Nigerian entertainment company founded by Cecil Hammond, is expanding into international sports with the launch of Team PRONC, a new racing team set to compete in the 2027 UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF —the world’s first all-electric raceboat championship.

The announcement positions Team PRONC alongside teams owned by global sports and entertainment figures including LeBron James, Tom Brady, Rafa Nadal, Will Smith, Virat Kohli and Didier Drogba.

Team PRONC will make its competitive debut in the 2027 season.

The team was co-founded by Cecil Hammond alongside Richie Shittu, Preye Berezi, Osahon Okunbo and Ndy Oruche.

According to the founders, the team was created to showcase Nigerian energy, ambition, culture, hospitality and entrepreneurship, while highlighting the growing presence of African culture in sport, entertainment and innovation.

Hammond said: “Team PRONC represents what can happen when ambitious people come together around a shared vision. This is bigger than motorsport. It’s an opportunity to showcase African innovation, creativity and excellence on one of the world’s biggest sporting platforms while creating something future generations can be proud of.”

The UIM E1 World Championship is the first global all-electric powerboat racing series.

It features teams based in different cities and countries, with an emphasis on sustainability, technology and marine conservation. The championship has attracted ownership groups from across sports, music and business.

For more than two decades, Flytime has produced live entertainment events in Nigeria and internationally.

The company states it has produced over 100 events, with more than 500,000 attendees and performances by over 400 artists, including Burna Boy, Asake, Ayra Starr, Rema, Tyla, Central Cee and Megan Thee Stallion.

Team PRONC marks Flytime’s entry into sports ownership and its first participation in a global motorsport championship.

Further details on the team’s boat, technical partners and race calendar are expected to be announced ahead of the 2027 season.
