GLOWFUX@10: Organisers Seek Rep. Babajimi Benson’s Greater Support As Ikorodu Lawmaker Receives Appreciation Visit

Posted on September 6, 2026

Representatives of the Bundle of Hope Child Care & Empowerment Foundation, owners of the GLOWFUX Charity Concert; members of the GLOWFUX @ 10 Planning Team; and representatives of Fanafillit Integrated Concepts, the production consultants for the landmark 10th anniversary edition, have paid an appreciation visit to the Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson (JB), in recognition of his longstanding support for the GLOWFUX Charity Concert.

The visit, which took place on Friday, September 4, was also an opportunity for the delegation to formally present the plans for GLOWFUX @ 10 to the lawmaker and seek his deeper involvement as the charity event prepares to celebrate a decade of bringing joy, dignity, love and memorable experiences to children and young people in organised needy homes across Lagos State and beyond.

The delegation comprised Comrade Olukunle Adelabu, Reporter-in-Chief of Impact Newspapers and member of the Advisory Board of the Bundle of Hope Child Care & Empowerment Foundation, who represented the Foundation; Miss Chisom Oparaugo, Project Coordinator of GLOWFUX @ 10; and Miss Adewunmi Tijani and Miss Elizabeth Lasisi, who represented Fanafillit Integrated Concepts, the production consultants.

Also in attendance were two GLOWFUX Young Ambassadors, Ambassador Hilary Adelabu and Ambassador Hiradat Aroyewun, whose presence further underscored the child-focused character of the initiative.

The visit was particularly significant because Rep. Babajimi Benson has supported GLOWFUX from its second edition and has remained associated with the project over the years.

The delegation therefore used the occasion not only to appreciate his contributions to the project but also to encourage him to deepen his support as GLOWFUX enters its landmark 10th year.

The delegation acknowledged Rep. Jimi Benson’s longstanding passion for children, youths and humanitarian intervention, as well as his expressed desire to see GLOWFUX hosted consistently in Ikorodu, describing the aspiration as one that aligns with the broader objective of demonstrating Ikorodu’s commitment to the wellbeing, development and future of its children and young people.

One of the major requests tabled before Benson was for him to consider taking greater ownership of GLOWFUX from this year’s edition by throwing his full weight behind the project, particularly for the benefit of the numerous needy homes that have continued to look forward to the annual celebration.

The delegation also presented the need for a more sustainable structure for the event, explaining that the organisers are seeking to move GLOWFUX into a new phase where the project can be sustained annually without having to continuously move around in search of sponsors.

According to the delegation, they believe this is achievable with the strategic involvement and influence of Rep. Benson, whose support does not necessarily have to be limited to direct financial contributions.

The team pointed out that with the JB brand fully associated with GLOWFUX, the lawmaker could help introduce the project to influential personalities within and outside Ikorodu, recommend potential supporters and open doors to individuals and institutions that may be willing to identify with the humanitarian initiative.

The delegation further appealed to Rep. Benson to regard GLOWFUX as an extension of the numerous humanitarian interventions associated with his office and the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation, and to help attract personalities from outside Ikorodu to participate in and support the event.

The organisers also sought his assistance in mobilising the leadership of the various local councils in Ikorodu Division, as well as Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA) and other public office holders across the division, to identify with the project through their presence, advocacy and other forms of support.

Particular attention was drawn to the two major activities planned as part of the GLOWFUX @ 10 celebration.

The landmark GLOWFUX @ 10 Charity Concert is scheduled for Monday, December 28, 2026, at the Ikorodu Town Hall, beginning at 12 noon and running until 6:30 p.m.

The organisers appealed to Rep. Benson to attend the celebration and encourage members of the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation to participate actively, particularly by coming with gifts such as clothing, food items, toys and other useful materials for the 15 organised needy homes expected to be celebrated at the event.

Before the December celebration, GLOWFUX will host a Novelty Charity Football Match on October 24, 2026, in Ikorodu. Selected teenagers from the beneficiary homes will form different teams for the charity match.

The delegation specifically appealed to the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation to take ownership of one of the four teams participating in the novelty match, further strengthening the partnership between the Foundation, GLOWFUX and the Ikorodu community.

Responding to the presentation, Rep. Benson expressed his appreciation for the recognition and gave assurances of his support for GLOWFUX, particularly for the 2026 anniversary edition and beyond.

The lawmaker spoke passionately about the importance of initiatives that provide hope and opportunities for children living in orphanages, shelters, rehabilitation facilities and other vulnerable circumstances, noting that children who find themselves in such situations deserve to experience love, dignity, care and the assurance that society has not forgotten them.

He acknowledged the importance of creating platforms where vulnerable children can experience happiness and interact with other children in an atmosphere free from the limitations of their circumstances.

Rep. Benson further expressed his willingness to support the organisers in building greater awareness and generating wider support for GLOWFUX, assuring the delegation that he would begin working in earnest to mobilise support for the project.

He particularly welcomed the vision of making the 10th anniversary a significant milestone and indicated his readiness to support efforts that would ensure the project continues to create meaningful impact beyond the anniversary celebration.

The delegation thereafter presented GLOWFUX @ 10 commemorative merchandise to the lawmaker as a symbolic representation of the partnership and the decade-long journey of the project.

In their closing remarks, the representatives of the Bundle of Hope Child Care & Empowerment Foundation, GLOWFUX @ 10 Planning Team and Fanafillit Integrated Concepts expressed appreciation to Rep. Benson for receiving them and for his longstanding relationship with the project.

They expressed optimism that his renewed commitment would help unlock new partnerships, attract more supporters and strengthen the sustainability of GLOWFUX as it enters its second decade.

The engagement also reinforces the organisers’ broader vision of making GLOWFUX @ 10 not merely an anniversary celebration, but a landmark community-driven humanitarian experience that brings together government representatives, local councils, traditional institutions, religious bodies, corporate organisations, community associations, media organisations, volunteers and members of the public in support of vulnerable children and young people.

With the October Novelty Charity Football Match and December 28 Landmark Celebration ahead, the organisers say the journey into the second decade of GLOWFUX is already gathering momentum.
