Ebonyi People Clamour For Chief Ifeanyi Odii As Governor In 2027

The governorship aspiration of Chief Ifeanyi Odii in Ebonyi State is gathering strong momentum ahead of 2027, with widespread calls from Ebonyi people both at home and in the Diaspora pushing for his emergence.

Political observers and community leaders say the growing support is fueled by Chief Odii’s track record of philanthropy, business success, and commitment to human capital development.

Speaking on the development, former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State Chapter, Chief Solomon Aguene, said he was not surprised by the massive endorsement trailing Chief Odii. According to him, the business mogul has over the years touched many lives and lifted countless families across Ebonyi State and beyond.

Chief Aguene said whatever Chief Odii says he will do to transform Ebonyi State, he will surely do it because he has the capacity.

He explained that Chief Odii’s wealth was built through hard work, integrity and vision. He added that the same ideas and strategies that placed Chief Odii among the richest Nigerians in Africa can be deployed to transform Ebonyi State’s economy if he becomes governor in 2027.

On welfare, Aguene said Chief Odii plans to prioritize the vulnerable in society. He stated that widows and less privileged persons in Ebonyi will be placed on a monthly stipend or allowance to cushion economic hardship.

He further noted that street hawking in traffic will become a matter of choice and not necessity, because Chief Odii intends to provide funding and business grants to support small-scale traders and entrepreneurs across the 13 local government areas of the state.

In the area of education, the Ohanaeze chieftain said Chief Odii will introduce a comprehensive scholarship scheme for Ebonyi students at secondary and tertiary levels. He added that the plan also includes ensuring that young people who wish to go into apprenticeship must first complete their secondary education before proceeding. This, he said, is to guarantee that youths have both skill and formal education to compete globally.

Chief Aguene also disclosed that Chief Odii has plans for justice and rehabilitation. He said the governorship hopeful will work with relevant authorities to visit correctional facilities, identify Ebonyi indigenes who may have been unjustly incarcerated, and facilitate their release and reintegration into society through empowerment programmes.

He assured that within the first two years of Chief Odii’s administration, residents will begin to see visible transformation across infrastructure, health, agriculture and job creation. He compared the expected impact to the developmental strides recorded in Ebonyi State during the era of former Governor, Engr. David Umahi.

Community leaders in Abakaliki, Afikpo, Onueke and other parts of the state have also voiced their support, describing Chief Odii as a detribalized son of Ebonyi who understands the pains of the people and has the capacity to deliver.

Diaspora groups from Europe, America and other parts of Africa have equally thrown their weight behind the aspiration, promising to mobilize resources and expertise to support a Chief Odii administration.

Supporters say what Ebonyi needs in 2027 is a leader with private sector experience, compassion, and a clear blueprint for prosperity. They argue that Chief Odii fits that description.

As the clamour grows, political analysts believe Chief Ifeanyi Odii’s entry into the 2027 race will reshape conversations around governance, wealth creation and social welfare in Ebonyi State.
