The Mbaise Nation Raises Red Flag At The Emergence Of An Evil Trinity ➖ As Hon Bede Eke Leads The Triune In An Oath Taking Scandal
MAZI EJIMOFOR OPARA
It is no longer news that the vehemence of the Mbaise Nation against perceived malpractices is strong enough to melt rigid and age-long obnoxious systems. It is this insistence to always fight what they define as just and/or legitimate entitlements that sets them apart from the other blocs within the Owerri zone political arrangement. They are simply adherents of their own conscience – good or bad. You cannot separate the average Mbaise person from the possibilities of his own beliefs. When they decide to be religious, they are indeed religious. When they decide to be secular, they are indeed secular. When they decide to be shrewd, they are indeed shrewd. The intelligent ones are guided by a high level of intellection. The crooked ones do not revel for too long in phoniness before legitimizing their concerns.
This is not to forget the unique wisdom exuded by an average Mbaise person, one that has come to be wrongly defined as “dangerous” by persons who cannot grasp it. Apologies to any one who thinks this piece as a gong of praise for a people generally stereotyped by a growing population of neighbours who only strive to be at par with them. I solely concede to being responsible for my opinion on this matter, because my respect for the Mbaise Nation grew when the Aboh Mbaise PDP took definite steps at stemming an evil practice that was deviously condoned by their Ngor Okpala neighbours.
It is obnoxious for a people to tolerate evil simply because it fits their personal longings. PDP Delegates in Ngor Okpala had earlier squirmed about a deceptive move by a few phony elements in the party to place their lives on the balance by subjecting them to the cruelest form of predatory politics. Yet, the leadership of the party in the LGA neither debunked nor investigated the matter. Pandering instead to a complicit silence, even when names were mentioned. As you read this piece, sources have continued to insist that Mr Irechukwu Okereke, the DG of Chidera group (Hon Bede Eke’s Campaign Organization) still drives around with a piece of diabolical instrument in the trunk of his car, conducting the diabolical Oath on any delegate he accosts.
I had thought this was mere propaganda against the gentleman and his team. Only to be confounded when the same move was resisted by the Aboh Mbaise delegates. Prompting the Aboh Mbaise Chairman of the PDP, Chief Obinna Onuama to set up a panel of enquiry headed by Barrister Shedrach Anyalechi. I have since spoken over the phone with the fine Barrister who confirmed to me that his committee has started receiving troubling testimonies from affected persons over the alleged act by Hon Bede Eke, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and Hon Onyewuchi Ezenwa.
It is this level of desperation that has seen Senator Chris Anyanwu throwing her hat into the ring against the senatorial ambition of Hon Ezenwa; Hon Mike Iheanetu (Akwaakwuru) insisting on the exit of a Bede Eke and Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Sam Daddy) preparing for a heartbreaking coalition with Prof Jude Njoku against an Ihedioha gubernatorial ambition. All thanks to the proactive stance of the Aboh Mbaise PDP for putting up swift resistance against this evil trinity who are bent on acquiring power at the expense of people’s lives. Recall, that Hon Onyewuchi Ezenwa was earlier in the year booed by delegates the day he declared to run for the Imo East senatorial seat at the residence of Hon Bede Eke. His recent resort to diabolism may not be unconnected with a desperate desire to win the delegates over.
What must be explained to the Barrister Shedrach Anyalechi panel of enquiry, in the coming days, is how a text message invite to delegates for a normal meeting with an aspirant turns out to become an oath taking activity, where delegates are coerced into doing same and in turn get a paltry N30,000. The Ngor Okpala PDP must quickly emulate their Aboh Mbaise neighbours before this imminent disaster transcends into something worse than they can manage.
