How Abba Kyari Led IRT Nabbed Killers Of 2 Students
Operatives of the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team, (IRT), led by DCP Abba Kyari, have nabbed the killers of two students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.
The arrest of the killers followed the information received on 3rd June, 2018, from one Oriade Adeola Rafiu. He said that on 28th May, 2018, at about 2300hrs, his brother, Oriade Adebisi, (a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University) was driving in his Honda Crosstour car with registration number FST 350 FA together with his girlfriend, one Julian Eke Imaga, at Oru-Ijebu after a visit to his friend “Akogun”.
Oriade Adeola narrated that all of a sudden as his brother was driving towards Oru junction, three armed men emerged on a motorcycle. The armed men were said to have whisked away Oriade Adebisi and his friend together with the Honda car to an unknown destination.
On the receipt of this complaint, operatives of the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team, (IRT), led by DCP Abba Kyari in collaborations with Oyo State FSARS and the Ogun State Police Command, swiftly swooped on the hoodlums and two of the principal suspects Muritala Babatunde and Taiwo Rasak were subsequently arrested.

The suspects: Muritala & Rasak
The police recovered an iPhone X mobile phone with Etisalat sim card and two pairs of shoes belonging to the deceased, Oriade Adebisi, from the first suspect Muritala Babatunde.
During interrogations, 29-year old Muritala Babatunde who hailed from Oru Ijebu in Ijebu North Local Government area of Ogun State, said that he was a university dropped out. He said that while he was in the university at Ago Iwoye, he was initiated into a cult called Black Axe Confraternity. He confessed being the current number one “AIYE” in Ijebu-North axis and had in his possession two locally made pistols which he normally used with his gang members to perpetrate their nefarious acts.
Muritala added that on 28th May, 2018, at about 2300hrs, having noticed the said Oriade Adebisi’s movement around Oru-Ijebu junction, he quickly called his gang members Rasak Taiwo a.k.a Iku and Sodiq. Together with his gang members, they kidnapped Oriade Adebisi and his girlfriend in his car and took them to the bush along Ijebu-ode Awa/Ibadan expressway where both of them were killed.

Oriade Adebisi
He confessed further that before Oriade Adebisi was killed, he ordered him to deactivate his password on his iPhone. He then took the iPhone with his two pairs of shoes and thereafter abandoned the car on the expressway having dumped their lifeless bodies in the bush at the back of the uncompleted building where they were murdered. He claimed that the late Adebisi was a Yahoo boy, was giving money to a rival cult group and was not giving to him, thereby failing to recognise him as the overall cult leader in that area.

Oriade Adebisi’s girlfriend Julian
The second suspect, 18-year old Taiwo Rasak, who hailed from Imota in Ikorodu LGA of Lagos State, confessed being initiated into AIYE confraternity in 2015. He said that he stayed with the first suspect Muritala Babatunde at Oru-Ijebu as the number one person in their confraternity.
He narrated that on 28th May, 2018, Babatunde Muritala called him and one Sodiq to meet with him at Oru junction. He said that on arrival, Babatunde Muritala told them that he wanted to kill Oriade Adebisi who had parted with his money. He said that Muritala then called his girlfriend, one Seun Yetunde, who had been monitoring Oriade Adebisi’s movement and she brought a bag that contained two guns and a cutlass. Muritala then gave him one of the guns, handled one and gave the cutlass to Sodiq while they waited patiently for Oriade to come.
Rasak narrated further that within few minutes, Oriade Adebisi and his girlfriend arrived in his Honda car. They pointed the guns at him, Muritala took over the steering having ordered their victims to the backseat and they drove off the junction. He added that they took them to the bush along the expressway where they were killed with planks and gun.
After the arrest of the suspects by the police team, they took them to the bush where the victims were murdered. The decomposing bodies of the
deceased were recovered on 19th June, 2018 and deposited at the General Hospital’s morgue in Ijebu Ode for autopsy. The Honda Crosstour car was also recovered and parked at Awa Police Division in Ogun State. Their operational guns and cutlass were equally recovered as exhibits.
The IGP’s Intelligence Response Team, (IRT), led by DCP Abba Kyari, said that investigations were still going on as they were making effort to arrest the accomplices.
