Police Arrest Gang Who Robbed Comedian Basketmouth

Basketmouth Wife, Elsie escaped the robbers attack

Two of the suspected armed robbers who allegedly attacked famous Nigerian stand-up comedian, Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth and his family in their Lekki home have been arrested by the police, P.M.EXPRESS can authoritatively confirm.
The suspected robbers were arrested recently in Ilasan area of Lekki, Lagos, following an operation carried out by the female Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Titilayo Oluwasanmi Oriyomi.
The police during the operation which lasted for several hours also recovered two AK47 rifles and live ammunition which the suspects hid at their armory hideout.

When our correspondent visited the Ilasan police division, the DPO was not around to comment on the matter.
However, the source at the station said she went to the state police headquarters in Ikeja in connection with the matter.
The source also revealed that the suspects were taken to Anti-Robbery Squad where they have made confessional statement.

The identity of the suspects were not released after our correspondent confirmed the arrest at SARS. According to the source, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni was aware of the arrest and will soon parade the suspects.

In the wee hours of 7 September, Basketmouth and his family were robbed at gunpoint in their Lekki home. Fortunately, Basketmouth and his family were unhurt, though some valuable items were taken away.

As at that time, no arrest was made until this latest arrest.
