A sport philanthropist, Fuad Akintunde has expressed happiness that the ongoing Ate Football Championship has reached the quarter final stage without violence.

The tournament which is being sponsored by Akintunde popularly known as Ate is taking place at Ile- Iwe Metta football pitch, LSDPC Estate, Isolo.

 Akintunde told Journalists in Isolo that the competition had attracted  crowd from various places since the beginning but thanked God that no player has sustained any injury during the competition, even as there was no report that football fans engaged  in physical fight during and after the game.

 “ The tournament is progressing and I am excited about the hitch free competition. We started this competition four weeks ago and there was no report that player sustained any injury  at the Ate’s Cup. I am very grateful about that. I want to use this medium to call on football fans to come out in large number to watch the quarter final matches starting from Wednesday,” he said.

In the quarter final pairings released on Monday, Power FC battle Oloke FC on Wednesday, Son FC  clash with Banson  FC  on Thursday, while Adetutu FC tackle Oyoyo FC on Friday as j.Boy FC confront Basitoy FC
