The Southwest Progressive Youth Movement, which is a conglomerate of progressive youths of like minds selected across the southwest states, has congratulated the national leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu for the victory of Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu in the just concluded Ondo State gubernatorial election held last Saturday.

Akeredolu of the APC defeated the candidates of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Eyitayo Jegede and that of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Olusola Oke in the keenly contested election.

The group’s National Coordinator, Comrade Taiwo Ajayi in an interview thanked the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari for all his supports, the APC governors and other national leaders of the party as well as the good people of Ondo State for choosing the right party with the right candidate.

The group advised the Governor-elect to be more focused on taking unemployed Ondo State youths off the streets and change the state from her present civil servant state status to an industrialised status.

Ajayi said that it is the belief of Southwest Progressive Youth Movement that the only remaining state in the southwest, Ekiti, under an opposition party led government will soon join the committee of progressive party in the region.

“We strongly believe that Ekiti State will soon be freed from the hands of the great deceiver, ” Ajayi said.

The Southwest youth group noted that Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu “remains our national and indisputable number one progress southwest leader.”
