Widows To March For Ayade’s Reelection

The reelection bid of Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, has received a boost as widows in the state under the aegis of Abbey Angels political advocacy group are set to mobilise support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.

The over 3000-member group, said their decision to campaign for Governor Ayade was due to his excellent performance in office and the support he has given widows since assumption of office.

The leader of the group, Hon Mrs. Abbey Ukpukpen, who disclosed this in Calabar commended the Governor for appointing a Personal Assistant on widows affairs, saying ” he is the first Governor in the history of the nation to so recognise widows”.

According to her, “we will mobilise all widows in Cross River, our children  to vote massively for our son and Governor who has done wonderfully well for us.

“Our Governor is a man of honour with milk of kindness flowing in him. We will vote for him; he is the one we know and is the one fit for our state.

Speaking further, the leader disclosed that so far they have been mobilising all voters to come out and collect their PVCs and be ready to vote for Governor Ayade and the Presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

“We are urging all registered Cross Riverians to come out and collect their PVCs and turn up enmasse to vote for Governor Ben Ayade and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Vote also for all PDP candidates in the coming elections”, she advised.

The leader of the group, explained that Ayade’s achievements was unprecedented in the state adding that the level of infrastructural  development in the last three and half years was simply amazing.
