Teams Ready For Sanwo- Olu Soccer Challenge In Lagos

Organizers of the Babajide Olusola Sanwo- Olu Lagos Community Soccer Challenge said all the participating teams are ready for the grassroots competition, which kicks off at various football divisions in Lagos.
Tayo Aderinola, the match coordinator said the five-aside tournament would kick off Saturday at Opebi Primary School, Ikeja before it goes round to other football divisions.
Aderinola in a chat with PM EXPRESS said the organizers have received appreciable number of clubs owners who are showing interest to take part in the tournament. He said the tournament is part of the electioneering campaign of All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Lagos State and urged football lovers to vote for Sanwo- Olu as next governor of Lagos State.
“The Sanwo- Olu tournament Lagos Community Soccer Challenge would shake Lagos because club owners keep on calling us for registration. As at early Friday morning, we have received more than 40 teams in Ikeja Division and I don’t know the numbers of entries in other football divisions. This is to tell you that the youths are keen to our vision and programmes,” he said.
Aderinola revealed that the tournament would not only kick off tomorrow at the Ikeja Divisional Centre, while matches in other divisions would start on January 26, with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final matches slated for between February 9 and 10.
He said the winner will get a BOS trophy and cash prize of N1 million, while first, second and third runners up will win cash prizes of N500, 000; N250, 000 and N100,000 respectively.
